Mr Mojo,
Tribes is plural, we all belong to many tribes. Tribes can relate to each role one plays. Tribes reflect belief systems and those systems are topical.
How does one feel about parenting, the role of art or science, teh vlaue of math to eductation at preschool and does that change in grade school or secondary ed.
I believe it is you who brought up the L Vs C thing.
My point on the vilification is much like the law of the internet and how participants ad value verses those who just flame with no clear thought that remove value.

To those who fight for the liberal or conservative "cause"

Individualism must not exist to you. Nope ; we're all just cogs in a machine ... We are confined to the classification of "liberal" or "conservative" .. If we happen to agree with anything people have defined as belonging to either category , according to you we must agree with everything else that other people have pre-determined for us.
We are responsible for the actions and behavior of everyone else who happen to share the same opinion we've personally come to. So much for personal responsibility, huh?

When do we (humanity) let go of this primitive and unnatural classification system we've shackled ourselves to? Let's truly let personal responsibility and individualism take it's place.

I understand our tendency to lean toward one cause or the other ...but to totally attach ourselves to either "side" is tribal in nature and is the root cause of why we have such a dangerous divide in America.

Tim, you packed a lot of good stuff in here - emotion, time, global culture, unemployment, the recession, instant gratification. Whew!

Your message here about taking our time is good and it evokes the slow food movement. Slow food arose to combat "fast food;" it advocates education and celebration of local culinary traditions and promotes small-scale food processing. Similarly, working in the electronic space of flows is fast and jazzy, but as people we still need to take the time to reflect, develop a perspective, review lessons learned, consider alternative approaches, understand context, share information and exercise sound judgment.

There's something to chew over.

Tim, you are right on here. As communication has shifted from one-to-one, one-to-many, to many-to-many, credibility is key to products and brands. Everyone knows 250 other people. Fakers are quickly surfaced by documentary films, Youtube spoofs, tell-all books, websites and tweets. Hopefully your product has the real goods; if not, better start making some changes! -- Alden
